Owing to a change in the set up of my rig, I have decided to incorporate some G subs. These will be stacked on top of just two Rhinos laid on their side - mouths coupled loaded with V18 1000s. Plan to run the Rhinos 4r bridged off a Matrix XT5000 ( not flat out!35Hz-80Hz). Is this going to be possible off a 13a socket?

G subs are going to be loaded with XBs (i think) and run off XP5000. 80 Hz-180Hz but i do worry about the XP running out of headroom.   Can anyone recommend alternative less powerful 18s that i should consider for the G subs that might give me more head room?

Many thanks

Not all amps can handle being bridged and run 35-80hz.

If your amp won't have the headroom to drive XBs, shouldn't you be considering more powerful amp?

Never heard of someone downgrading drivers (especially XBs), so amp is happy. Usually hear about amp upgrade.

G-Subs probably play lower than two miniscoops, however, miniscoops efficiency around 40-70hz or so should be better.

I don't see point in worrying about that you don't power enough reasonably sensitive drivers. Yes, you could "downgrade" your drivers to other drivers with smaller RMS rating but it is always not obvious that they would also be automatically more sensitive, in which case you would actually gain something in process. If you are worried that your amp is not manly enough for the drivers you are using, just use it on the damn things and don't let it clip, that's all. As long as you don't clip the amp, drivers should be really happy running with lesser power than they could take. When the time is right and you feel like it, upgrade the amp. Simples.
