    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forum.speakerplans.com/member_profile.asp?PF=2542">shagnasty</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Building a Dockhouse for my Mixer<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18 May 2013 at 7:48am<br /><br />The "dog House" / "dog box" let you keep all your FOH line and FX/Insert tails permantly connected to your mixer and just throw the multipin tails into a space behind it, even my Mix-Wizzard has a dog box, if you use anything as Neanderthal as a Harting or Veam, then best anchor it to the base, less it smashes up your XLRs in transit, for those of us that won't tolerate than junk, just sling your multi-pins in amogst the cables!!!!<div>&nbsp;</div><div><img src="http://forum.speakerplans.com/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>]]>

If you got a Harting tail thrashing around inside your Flight with you rather fragile Console without it being kept on a Leash (pun intended) it could do some serious damage. a Harting Hans with 48 or more Channels on it weighs a Kilo most likely and swinging around on a Cable you may just as well sling a Hammer in the flight and be done with it same result really<img src="http://forum.speakerplans.com/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><br>]]>

I used to use "Biscuits" but no longer do this unless I need to make a panel longer or larger with an offset rebated biscuit just helps assembly in these cases.<br>But the only materials I use are Ply usually. And never any softwood and Hardwood is only ever veneer period<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forum.speakerplans.com/member_profile.asp?PF=15431">SMP</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Plywood/fibreglass laminating<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 May 2013 at 11:26pm<br /><br />plodding through the forum topics to cure some boredom cae across this topic. <br>I seem to be missing the target result required by the thread starter here. if the GRP is for protection of the surface easy no need for Mat just a thin reinforcing skin with a 414PA Resin will do some Rylands Paste to colour it. pre-key Ply with a slowed Resin with either Styrene or just Acetone to help it key into the grain before a layer of Tissue Mat will give enough strength as a finish layer.<br><br>But on the other hand if the object is to create a new construct Medium to achieve lower weight by making a Composite from Ply/GRP there are no real gains to be made weightwise as GRP gets maximum strength from bonded Glass strandswith as little&nbsp; Polyester Resin as possible it is the combination of the 2 materials of Glass &amp; Polyester in a good ratio that gives it strength.<br><br>Perhaps the thread starter can elucidate as to what the target is? <br><br>I use GRP and have done so for 20+yrs to make all sorts of things including audio devices. I learned from one of the best Laminator/Mouldmakers who does a lot of work you have most likely seen without realising it in some very high profile places for amusement parks etc where stringent rules regarding Public safety and therefore Specs are needed.<br><br>So if given a set a of criteria for the target result may be able to give some assistance I have and do make Horns for Bass,Mid,Hi on a regular basis there are many materials and ways to construct using them to do many functions<br><br>So what was it you wanted to achieve???<br>]]>
