Couldnt you use your jig to create another jig and stack them on top of each other to make a thicker template?

I had exactly the same problem :)

if you are very good as l am with routers just mark the lines with your jig and route it free hand .it not that difficult if you have steady handsheres some work l did free hand

Ive been making jigs tonight.

Used a 10mm bit with a 30mm guide bush but have been making jigs for handles and connector plates and top hats.

I would agree with johnatron for rebaiting. 

using bits with bearings I've found fatigue your jugs rather quickly.

when i rebate cabs i use an 18mm straight cutting bit then use a 30mm guide bush to to keep the cutter centered in the 30mm channel on the template. 
I find using bearings on templates over and over the messes up the template.
I always do a dry fit on a piece of scrap mdf just to make sure the template is true.
You'll probably need a new jig tho if you  have an 18mm profile on your jig

batons won't work you need a bit of MDF of similar the same size as the template, I have template laser cut in steel to use a 30mm collect but if you have a 1:1 template you can use teh cutter shown, you just need to use a bit of scrap sheet to space it out, personaly I would mark the shet with template and then jig-saw/freehand route it a bit bigger than the cut lines so the sheet isn't heating up the cutter, when you do this you MUST have either good extraction of blow compressed air into the cut line to stop the bit clogging up with dust....
