Pamphonic Reproducers were the PA subsidiary of PYE, later on they sold domestic radios & TVs as well which were badge-engineered Pyes, also 'PAM' transistor radios.

No photos off me this week, you'd be bored with the throughput of macrotechs, dynacords, BK Elec, photos of which already exist on here. I did consider taking a pic of me peering through the burnt hole in one of the MA5000VZ boards which someone had created by feeding it 20A fuses but I wouldn't want to put anyone off their pot noodle.

nice to see some kt88's, my favourite valves.

not sure if it is 1950's though, looks a bit newer to me, probably mid 60's. its the pcb that gives it away, most early 50's units would have been made "point to point", with the passive components being soldered to tag strips or directly to valve base terminals etc.

good bit of kit though, and 40 watts is nearly as loud as 400...

My Mate tried it out on one of his Klipsch mid horns and I could'nt get my head around how loud it was for 40-ish watts. 40 watts is pretty good for a pair of KT88s - must be in push-pull. National Pamphonic ''Reproducer''. Built in the early 50's and I have been informed it was the first available British specialised PA amp just after the war.
I picked it up as it was being thrown out by a ''Government Authority'' building that we were refitting for computers years ago-I only grabbed it for the valves... the KT88's especially.
I like the fact you can see where they have cleaned where they could see but the rest is coated with vintage nicotine.
I have been told it is capable of a mind blowing 40 watts.
