hey
trying to get a bit more organised and systematic with things, and rather than just using a spreadsheet for accounts etc I'm was thinking of using some proper accounting software. What do people use/what can you recomend? If it can generate invoices, submit VAT directly to the tax office etc then so much the better but the main thing is really that it's simple to use. k |

And preferably not an "online" one where you're paying a monthly subscription. Proper software to run on my PC!
EDIT: LOL you posted Toasty while I was typing this one! Edited by kevinmcdonough - 23 April 2015 at 8:55pm |

Xero wins. (Sorry Kev know it's not the answer you're after, but it really does).
Also has plugins to all kinds of other handy stuff like Current RMS and ReceiptBank. |

i use sage one its a online software you pay monthly for and i do my vat returns with it , it logs into goverment gateway when you run your return through it.
im not sure how complex you need your software to be but it seems to be pitched at smaller businesses, traders but it suits me fine plus theres a app for ios and android so you can have it anywhere with you |

Have actually saw one called Solar Accounts that I'm leaning towards. They have an offline (and an online that I could maybe migrate to later) and it's super easy to use, not like accounting software at all very point and click.
But any other suggestions would still be great before I pull the trigger. K |

I use a freebie one called VT Cash Book.
Nice and simple, data file can be backed up easily, money in, money out kind of thing. |
