ive taken this pic from the 1st internal thread...im very curious about these Jts UA1 UA3 UA4 series of amps.
1..i allways under the impression tubbs built amps from stratch?? as his pre's-siren ect 2..it looks like another ca18 copy to me?? 3..so what does tubbs do mod and beef these up?? 4.so what amps are thay really?? (i know i ent gonna get that answer as it a soundsystem secret ting  ) im not tyring to expose my mans works or anythink just if i was to buy one what am i getting?? simple Edited by Dub Specialist - 03 June 2012 at 6:34pm |

-I see Unreliable FASTON connectors (release by itself)
-I see the capacitors are physically separated from the amplifier = design FAIL -the heatsinks could have pretty high gradient (one end is 30-40C more hot than the cold end) -I see output wires to the connector (probably the feedback runs from the amp board) = Low damping :) thats it |

Why the problem with output wires? Given the 5m+ to drivers, is 15cm an issue?

Every millimeters is an issue especially together with capacitor to amplifier wires :-/
Not only the small milliOhms resistance but some of the additional inductance matters. Added Foil caps to the amp stages would not replace a properly designed busbar structure This is why NEXO Systems has usually four wires interfacing 2 power + 2 sense wires |

since when do faston become unlatched by themselves?

People have to sometimes put 10M extensions on speaker cables, due to unexpected venue issues, so no need ring alarms about few cm in the amp... |
