Do you have any more info regarding the Pulse Amps you are fixing? Interested what is wrong with them Embarrassed

Looks like the inside is the same as a Nova dxp3600, worth checking out. Have you powered up the smps driver circuit on a bench power supply and check wave forms on a scope to see if you are getting high and low switching ??.

1. Power up the main SMPS switching chip, check waveform on each high and low output.
2. Check pre-driver outputs, again check waveform.
3. Check each waveform is on the gate of each IGBT.
4. There could be a problem with the main SMPS transformer itself. Check

Are those biasing pots at the back by the valves?

No, that would be too easy! You can see the bias trimpot on the (bottom) board.

Those are for a slave output and effects send loop.   Smile

Hehe did think that's too easy a way of potentially blowing the valves.

I've been interested in valve amps recently after scrapping a transistor Hammond and finding a circuit similar to a vox ac15/wem dominator. Also a 3w Mullard circuit in a mono reel to reel that got me thinking about slave output and dummy load arrangements.

This guitar amp has a slave output and di/record outputs at .775v and 10mv. The slave output is after the tone stack and before the power section but the DI outputs are a separate winding/tap(?) On the output transformer so have the sound of the power section too.

Other interesting features are a sensitivity switch(I think its feedback) and switchable power transformer voltage for 15/30 watts.

Never tried the di output of this but I expect it will sound funny as a full range signal without the natural rolloff of guitar speakers.

I'll be back with a 'proper' amp internals post in a mo

That really looks homemade! Also you have the same el cheapo multimeter as me Big smile I constantly think that I should get at least something half decent, but it does the job and keeps on ticking.

Odc it's a session 15:30 made by axess electronics in basingstoke in the 70s. Apparently same model as Jethro Tull guitarist used to slave a few thousand watts of solid state amps into a wall of speakers. No doubt engineers loved mixing with that stage volume.

That multimeter was nearly the end of me recently. I was scared of poking around in the valve amps because of the potential of 300v+ charges in the smoothing caps. Long story short I finished and the probe fell off. I had taken all the 0v readings on the caps as lies and discharged to ground through a 10k resistor anyway. Cheap safety tools shouldn't be relied on

This is an amp I've been meaning to put on here for ages. Dynamix sc1200 system check. It says designed and made in England on the back. Is this a rebadged matrix or other UK manufacturer?
