Building a few of these at the moment trying to work towards smaller and smaller designs that still have good fundamental bass. this box can hit 50hz putting the drivers back to back realy seems to improve sound quality and thermal coupling of drivers, thanks to Saturnus for suggesting this arrangement.

Components

Speaker monacor sp110 4" drivers x2
dt-25n number one tweeter
2x 15watt sure ampTA2020
sure 8watt amp for hf
xkitz active xover crossed at 3k
Ultramax 5ah 12v battery

Here are some pics

Hope to have the smaller version of this up soon.

how does it sound in your opinion?... does it go reasonably low?.... does it kick better?... is it just louder?

its just all there, bass to mid to hf the main reason for going iso barric is size its the only way i could get something around 4.5lts to have decent bass. i took this to a party recently and it ran all night and was loud enough for every one talking and dancing its like a little hifi. its nothing to my studio monitor but for what it is, its balanced, punchy and has good bass response. in the back ground of the last pic you can see my latest prototype thats only 3lts.

iv got a load of small drivers that could do with a project or two.....

Using win isd.

some drivers work and some really don't so it takes a bit of experimenting despite what the sim says.
remember if you are packing a load of electronics in the box like i have. Try and calculate every bit of internal volume they use up as it really dose make a difference to the tuning frequency and the response of the cab.

ps

the chamber size between the two drivers dosnt matter as long as its sealed and allows the 2 drivers to couple. in my case smaller the better.
