Should I include bandpass filters to block beneath & above full range driver limits of 60 hz / 16 khz?
This is for column speakers with 6 full range drivers wired series parallel with each driver rated 3 ohms,50w rms. If filter desirable, beyond online calculators which provide component values, can anyone give me any helpful pointers? |

Would recommend at least a High Pass Filter to prevent too much low frequency content being sent to the drivers, as that would increase distortion and possibly even damage the drivers.
There is usually less energy in the high frequesncies, so less chance of damage occurring there if you decide to do without a Low Pass. HTH, David.

second order filter is probably sufficient. If you have an LMS or an amp with HPF it is easier to do it before the speaker than using passive components. and you reduce IM distortion if you get rid of unwanted frequencies before the amp.
