No even a good 1" i.e BMS 4550 would be adequate, and sound way better than the majority of 2" jobbies.

Tony how low would you recommend crossing the 4550?
What horns long/short "throw" would you recommend?

Yes, in fact my first choice was 2" driver but looking at many high quality same configurations on the market, I found that 1,4" is the preferred choice. I think that this solution is due because 2" driver is a bit slower in transient response on very high frequency range than 1,4" that, for me, represents the real compromise between low resonance of 2"driver and high reactivity of 1"driver.
Moreover i "love" 18sound XT1464 horn and I have to use a 1,4" driver for that. The ND1460A seem to work very well on this horn. http://www.eighteensound.com/index.aspx?mainMenu=view_product&pid=253
