Would it be a waste to use BMS 4550 in single 15" 2way reflex crossoed at 1.2kHz or could it keep up with 2x15". I have 4x15" neo Paudio speakers and wanted to do something with them. BTW. is Paudio PH220 horn any good for BMS 4550? Thanks in advance. |

The 4550 will work quite happily with twin 15" drivers if crossed at 24-48db/oct. Try it with a Faital LTH102 horn crossed as low as 1K for good results.
Never used the P.Audio flare so cannot comment. Tony |

So could you recommend a horn for 4550? Got them for 70euro/each. I think that is a fair price? PH 220 is OK priced, it is like 23 euros, I can buy RCF, Paudio, Faital, EV, B&C, so what would be the price/performance winner? For now it is going in 2way crossed at 1.5k. Main use would be small live gigs main, for bigger gigs monitor duty. Maybe experiment on some 2x12" mid tops later when funds allow. |

Not to open a new topic, so i seek help here. I built 2x15"(2x16ohm in parallel=8ohm) + BMS 4550 8 ohm. I used these crossover at the fifth page of these B&C plans and got to much HF. Could it be altered at the end of HF part using different value resistors or am I off to making a new custom crossover for this job? Every component is OK just don't have two bulbs but one. Could this be the part that is raising power to the comp? I am not good at passive crossover designing. Every advice is more than welcome. Thanks. |

Thanks. Hm....and here we go. A brand new crossover. Here we go. So, I have two 16ohm 15" mid-bass speakers. Each 97-98 db sensitivity. And a 4550 mounted on PH220 horn(RCF H100 aluminium copy). What's the average sensitivity on BMS 4550 on 90x75 horn? If I have two 16ohm paralleled would they have 100-101 db sens. at 8ohm? |
