I know the whole 'Boomcase' thing has been done to death but these are for my kids and they'll love the novelty value.
I've tried to do it right though by making them with a full 10mm Birch ply sealed box inside.

Here's the specs:
Monacor sph60/4 Bass drivers
Dayton nda16fa/6 Tweeters
6.8mf 400v Cap for crossover.
Ta2020 Amp
35mm x 120mm Ports.
12v 3.2amp Led power supply
12v 2.3ah SLA Battery
Relay to swith between the two power supplies.
They'll also be a charger when it arrives and voltage indicator when they arrive.

The larger case is bang on 7.25ltrs (net) and the smaller case is less although there's not much difference in the outputs.
They both sound amazing...way better that expected!
Can't wait to see my kids faces when they get on Christmas day.
Thanks to all for the help and info...especially Luktveld, you're a legend!!!!

And that is how you build a true boomcase! With a proper cabinet fit inside.

Worked out very nice Shortrope! As Saturnus already said: excellent idea to put a wooden case inside. Looks very retro and slick, those chrome rings are a nice touch! I'm glad I could help you out with your problems :)

Here's a couple of interior pics.
I've since added some hacked Cigarette socket USB chargers which work a treat.
I may add a second Battery at some stage, I'll see how they get on with them.

Very clean!

Does it make a negative difference if you put your electronics in the same room as your drivers and port?
