I have input the Thiele/ small parameters for a Eminence Delta 15LF into WinISD and it has come out with me needing a box 616L in Volume (H-1417 D- 554 W-889). This seem damn HUGE!
Help?!

When you start up a project on winisd it uses a default alignment. This will only be suitable for drive units with appropriate T/S parameters. There is nothing stopping you changing the size and tuning to see what the response will be.

This graph shows the response of your 600ltr cab in yellow and a 100ltr cab in purple.

Although it might look worse the 100ltr cab will give a more useful output. The next graph shows why.

This shows the maximum spl based on power rating and excursion. If you want to use the large cabinet below 50Hz you are restricted to a maximum output of 110dB, while with the smaller cabinet you get 116dB down to 40Hz. The smaller cabinet is capable of a greater output above about 35Hz.

Winisd allows you to add filters so with a couple added at 90 and 40Hz the response can be flattened to the graph below. The max spl graph stays the same as above because the excursion and power limitations haven’t changed

The cabinet size I used was not special or carefully chosen.

I'm sure Eminence recommend an enclosure of between 125 and 150 litres for the Delta 15LF.
Just a thought.
