I prefer a proper driver in the car boxes like AudioBahm or a high quality PA sub driver [Eminence HL10, Lab12 or PD1550.]

Would be very interesting to hear the Lab 12 in a car though.....

How on earth can you pull 1000 W (and more) from a car battery?

An amp pushing 1000 Watt into the speakers would draw about 100 A from the car battery ...
Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.

I've got a neighbor down a few doors with a pair of AW1206Ts in his ride. almost about 2kw going there and he never has a problem. ocourse you don't turn it up to that power on a raguler basis... ofcourse the battery would be dead in 15 minutes. also you could try added a CAT battery to you'r ride. get a custom made 18V to 12V converter. you've got you'r self LOTS of amp supply. still thats a second battery and a second alternater... plus the battery being about 120lbs...

in terms of amps i believe there is more power flowing through the terminals of a car battery than a 240v house plug [in the uk, and dont quote me on that]
