If it was me, I would purchase a female panel/chassis mount 32a, mount it next to the inlet on the rack and wire it across like the kelsey Distros do.  Then you can plug your amp in without changing the cee form on that.  Obviously the wiring inside the rack will need appropriately isolating from anything that could come into contact with it

I would also advocate talking to a relevantly qualified electrician if you are unsure about anything...

Ok. In simple terms you need to connect the amp to the back of that male ceeform that is already mounted on the rack.

I would do it the way Spongebob suggested and make a short extension that has one end connected to the back of the male ceeform on the rack and the other end has a female on it which connects to the male that is already on your amp.

This would mean you need to find some power cable and a female ceeform in addition to what you already have.

If you only want to do this with what you already have then you would need to take the male ceeform off your amps cable and wire the amps cable directly to the back of the male ceeform on the rack. The only trouble with this would be that your amp is permanently hard wired into the rack and if you need to remove it then it is more hassle than using the first method.

Hope that helps.

Boy what a bizzare thread!
Whatever you do make sure you cover up the terminals on the back of the rack mounted plug when you wire into them (a cheap plastic box with a big round hole in the bottom to take the cons and a cable gald to get the cabel out would be ideal...

The rack I note also has a 20a Powercon in...

Don't use both will you!!! Long thread recently about what the world (SP'ers in particular should and shouldn't do with blue P'cons)

Where are you in the UK?

If you're anywhere near Brighton - bring it to me and I will happily SHOW you what you need to do with it - cos all of the posts above have me confused as hell, and I actually know what I'm doing!

It's something you have to get right - cos if you misunderstand one of the posts above and wire it wrong you could hurt yourself - or someone else.

No - not safe.

The sticky outy pins are always an inlet.

The sunken recessed holes are always an outlet.

Use the one on there already to get the power into your rack, then work from there back to your equipment, still using the same gender scheme all the way thru, regardless of the power connector type used.

Think of it as a 13a plug, and a socket you'd have in your wall. You wouldn't DREAM of using that the wrong way round: would you? You don't see extension leads with 3 live pins you could wave around and let hit handrails, radiators, small children, etc - so use the same thinking for your rack.

or just put a 13a plugtop on the amplifier and keep it simple.

Do you mean the OPs posts or other peoples? If people can't follow the below then I'm seriously worried

Step 1) Find 50cm (or your desired amount) of power cable
Step 2) Find a female ceeform connector
Step 3) Wire the female ceeform connector to one end of the power cable
Step 4) Wire the remaining bare end of the cable to the male ceeform connector on the rack
Step 5) Plug your male ceeform connector from the amp into the female connector in the rack (the one you just put in there from step 3)
Step 6) Plug the venue power (that will be handed off to you as a female connector) into the male ceeform rack connector
Step 7) Bassface
