Anyone know if Cerwin Vega’s claim of 30hz from their folded horn loaded bass cabinets is accurate.  http://www.cerwinvega.com/

I pulled that little picture off the site.  I printed it, measured it, and drew it 1-to-1 (scale) in AutoCAD.  Then scaled it up to the 36” dimension.  Looks similar to the punisher design.  Course, larger and uses an 18.

it does indeed go to 30hz, but at low sensetivity. it's real usable range is more in low to mid 40s and sound very nice. the Jr. Earthquake alone is rather nice and when you add that extra 12 inches to the back for the normal Earthquake and the AfterBurner, it's even sweeter.

they have a rather simple design but have a hit like no other. and their claim about the "6db more output at 1watt compared to a dual 18" reflex", you better believe it, Jr. Earthquake around rms power hits harder then a JBL SRX728S being powered with about 2kw.

What is not at the new CV site is that you need 8 cabinets in half space to do 30hz. They also recommended 4 cabinets for corner loading. The old site had this info.

The T36 was the best design CV did, as it was a pretty 'musical' design. All other designs are at least a bit boomy, some are extremely boomy (not suitable for live sound, ok for hiphop and stuff). Four of them go down to 40Hz, and would deliver a good amount of SPL without the drawbacks of vented cabs...

Your drawing is missing the throat block and bracing throughout.
