These are monsters, would give even the biggest sound man amp a run for its money, only downside is it needs three phase. I really wonder what their "burst" ratings would be.

Power output ~ 5,000w RMS into 1 Ohm, 3,000w RMS into 2 Ohms, 1,550w RMS into 4 Ohms, 58kg Erm, please don't say this amp is 1x Channel. |

Please correct me, if I'm wrong. So that 58kg, 6U amp is offering 625W per 8 ohm sub cab, if 8x are connected ? |

So much for the better it seems. I could use 2x cheap, blatant China knockoff, lightweights that prob weigh approx 40kg in total, that would smoke that old lump, without using 3PH. But the point is that amp was designed for more than just audio. It was used for industrial applications too.

that was originally made to run gradient coils in MRI scanners - laboratory grade for medical use etc...
In terms of pure quality etc, id love hear results of this tested by someone 'neutral' - for sonic quality, transient response etc etc. Bet the damping factor on these is off the scale!! |
