Just got all my ingredients to make my 24v'er. And ive got a couple of questions.

Ill b adding pictures throughout the build over the next few days
Amp = Sure 2x 100watts
Battery = 24v Lipo 20ah electric bike battery
Speakers = 4x Beyma 8AEG and a couple of peizo's

Once all connections up to my drivers in the cab are made is its possible to branch of and have binding post connections on the outside to power the drivers when the amplifiers is not being used without damage to the any component inside, For home use ?

How long do you think a 24v 20ah battery will run my sure amp with 4 x 35 watt 8 inch speakers attached they are Beyma 8AEG 35watts? running full frequency with a pair of piezo's

How much draw would the amplifier use at full potential as the battery comes witha fuse holder which is a biggun!

Thanks

You'll need a switch as you can't have the speakers connected to 2 amps at the same time. Regardless if one is not running.

About 8-9 hours on that battery.

Up to 12A spikes. A 10A fuse should do it.

Good choice of components. Do you already have those Beyma drivers ? what impedance ?

Should kick up nicely. Keen to see your cab/driver layout.

If the drivers are 8R each, you'll get optimum loading of the amplifier, but with 24V supply it'll really be about 60W/channel .... still good though.

I'd say you could get longer than 8-9 hours from that. Rule of thumb :-

Take the total max o/p power (if driven by sine wave up to clip) - but DON'T put sine wave/tst signals through it up to that level - and divide by about 6-8 for "typical" music playing.
In your case 120W = about 15-20W of long-term music, so ... well I'd say you might get as much as 15-20 hours like that. If you HPF at around 60-70 that might be quite a bit longer.

Bear in mind though that the amplifier isn't sensitive enough to run full o/p fed directly from ipod/portable cd player type sources. You might need to come up with a bit of a pre-amp/gain stage really. Adding a switchable HP filter would be a good move.

Pics when you get going with it !!

Oh yeah - you should DEFINITELY put a switch between amp o/p and speakers if you want to drive the speakers externally.

These Sure amplifiers come with selectable gain settings (dip switches near the RCA sockets) which in my experience are enough even when fed by an unamplified MP3 player to reach the headline power outputs for respectable THD. In some of their manuals they actually recommend against using preamps because the gain settings go so high that an amp'ed signal will blow something in the TC2000 or whatnot.
