Hi Guys
I recently lent a pair of very old Mcgregor mpx 750 cabs to a friend (bad move) and sadly one came back broken. It turns out that the crossover is the cause. The specs of the cab are: - 750w (I assume that's peak) - 4ohms - Hi 12DB per Octave @ 2.5KHZ high pass - Lo 12db Per Octave @ 2.5KHZ low pass - The low band goes to a mid driver and a low driver. I'm struggling to find an exact spec match on Blue Arran & Studio Spares. I can find ones that match crossover frequency but not power and I'm anxious to buy the wrong one. Could anyone offer any advice? Cheers for reading Frosty |

I'm sure a good closeup pic would help us to identify the suspect parts!

Ring McGregor? They're still trading and they're quite helpful

Well Alan at McGregor was a very nice chap.
He said as you guys said it would be very difficult to find one of the shelf and it would need checking over afterwards. £40 an hour repairs and he thinks it'll take about 30 minutes. So looks like it'll be 2 hours off work to drop it off, £40ish quid repair plus petrol. I'm never lending my gear out again! Cheers guys |
