it's not that bad is it? probably not correct really but it's no widowmaker? those powercons are the equivalent of a line socket or female.. it's similar to a 32A plug that splits down to 2 16A sockets.. no protection, the 2 cables won't seal properly in the 32A plug.. but it's far from terrible isn't it?
(i don't have one of these or anything.. just don't understand the reaction to this particular bodge lead...) |

I thought similar, I don't like it at all but short of wedging a screwdriver up a connector whilst the other was plugged it's not in the same league as a proper widowmaker. The correct way to do it would be to chain powercons from rack to rack, in-out-in-out etc (shake all about) or multiple out from a proper distro. This is a clear bodge from that point of view.
Now if they had put the wrong powercons on it that would have been very bad indeed. |

We stock the rubberbox y-splits which go 16a ceeform to 2x powercons, and 16a ceeform to 3x powercons. Not a widowmaker at all, very handy for powering 2/3 columns of video wall from the top and being able to flash panels out as you build the wall, rather than looping down and back up, or patching from side to side.

I think that the problem with this is that you can actually pull 32a from a powercon when they are rated 20a

No but I did message a seller from Wales a few weeks ago and he wanted around £1500 from memory. Same scerario, ie a club that didn't open. During the conversation I just got weird feeling about the chap. I spoke about some of the fake Labs for sale on ebay and he appeared very surprised.
