When I reply to an e-mail most of the time a menu bar comes up over my reply which allows me to choose a font, size, bold or normal type, Italic or not, and all the silly emoticons etc. The machine is on Windows 7.

Often I select a font and size and then half way through the message it reverts to the default settings. If I backspace the machine will usually pick up my chosen font, but it frequently happens again. I usually end up finishing the message, then highlighting the whole thing and changing the font to what I want.

The other thing is that sometimes (About 50%) the font menu doesn't appear at all.

Can anyone explain?

Web based or client?

So, do you sign into your email or use for instance Windows Mail or Outlook?

Presuming Internet Explorer:

http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/923737

Afterwards let it go through the process of thinking it is new.
Then right click near the top, left click (tick) tool bar and favorites bar.
Then tools, options and reset your preffered home page.

If the above no good unnistall flash player and Silverlight and re-install.
