I'm biting the bullet and I'm going to have a go at reconing a couple of Eminence Kappa 15s.
One is a Kappa 15C ~ 4 ohms, the other a Kappa 15A ~ 8 ohms.
Can I use the same recone kit, for a 15A, for both and end up with two 15As ?
That's the goal.

Cheers, Rob.

i think it's just the coil determines the impedence.. so yeah... it sounds to me like you're right... i'd wait for another opinion though, to be sure..

Magnets and chassis are identical so if you use an 8 ohm re-cone you'll have an 8 ohm driver.
If it's got wheels or tits it's gonna cost a fortune

I think u can covert 4 ohm model to 8 ohm, but not the reverse.
It is only possible if the magnet gap between top plate & T yoke is same.
For 8 ohms the wire thickness is less but for 4 ohms it is more.
Hence the resultant voice coil o.d. is little different.
So many times manufacturers use different top plate i.d.
