Anyone got any experience with the RCF LF18G401 in this cab? They look like a good value driver.

How come the recommended driver for this has a response 35hz-200hz and yet the box is recommended for use up to 250hz?

I have built 4 of these cabs which I just finished recently. I'm currently building 2 Hog scoops.
I also have built 3 bassreflex cabs in the last 2 years. One TL505 with a EVM18B and 2 http://www.forum.poweraudio.ro/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=9645 - Subwoofer 18inch-supercompact with 2 Gauss woofers. Planning on building 2 PAS3MA2 after the Hogs are finished. Now I have the very common question: which drivers do I put in the es18-bph. I've already read about a lot of drivers on the forum but now I found 4x Behringer Eurolive 18SW400D8 seconhand available at a two hour drive distance. The seller priced them at 300 Euros and the highest bid is currently 175. I think I can get them for a bit less than 300 if I try. some specs I found: 400 Watt cont. 1600 Watt peak 100 dB half space 1 W @ 1 m 40 - 300 Hz (-10 dB), 8 Ohm Assuming these are in working order, would these drivers be a good option? They seem rather cheap but I'm worried whether the quality will be good enough and whether they will go well together with the es18-bph. |

i haven't looked at their proper specifications but i doubt they'll be any use to you really. you'd be much better off getting second hand quality / recommended drivers.

Thanks for your reply.
I also haven't been able to find proper specs. I did find some site saying that the Behringer B1800X Pro is loaded with this driver. https://www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Loudspeaker-Systems/Portable-Speakers/B1800X-PRO/p/P0288 It all looks good, but I'm not so sure where on the quality spectrum Behringer is compared to brands like PD, Fane, EV etc... I did read Behringer focuses on making budget products with a high quality. I'll try to find some of the recommended drivers in the coming months, I'm not in a hurry as long as I'm not finished with building the hogs and pas3ma2's |

it's not that people won't share that information.. it's just that there isn't a definitive answer. different drivers, different filter points and slopes and all sorts of stuff affects this.
and 27ms is like.. a 9 meter delay or something.. |
