I´ve seen a few self-powered cabs with overheating problems, eg RCF 310a. They really needed more aluminium, eg no external fins, but that wasn´t an option, so I just added some fans and all was ok.
I did find it a bit strange that an Italian company (ie hot climate), would skimp on the heatsinking. We also get a bit of sun here - like 45º in the summer, so power amps can suffer. On days like that, I´d say that a fan is really not optional, but essential. Maybe not something one considers in the UK. |
