I went to Ynot, I thought the main stage did indeed sound very good, plenty of low mid which is what always pisses me off about other line arrays. I reckon the engineers were, in general, overcooking the kick drum a bit though. Must have been a bit of a dead spot right at the desk or summat. Or perhaps they were just revelling in the 18" hornloaded goodness LOL
I was there on the Octopus' Garden field and briefly in the campsites with the bike trailer rigs, at the behest of the Tribe of Xanadu guys, wanted to do more disco excursions but the mud defeated us somewhat, still good fun though :) Gonna build me a TANK of a bike for Shambala, just to ensure it doesn't rain LOL I'll see what pictures my mate got on his phone...

haha i must have walked past you guys chilling on the armchairs outside the reggae tent with the bikes on the friday afternoon, thought i should say hello as they would probably be speakerplanners, but unfortunately was working at the time and wasn't allowed to socialise, just 'sneak' around in all blacks looking very obvious to anyone looking.... was nice getting to wonder around and listen to whatever i wanted however.

Seemed to be sounding nice around the whole site, was only there on Sunday in some crazy rain but was still a laugh. Playing on Sama Roots is always nice.

were you the DJ with dreads? I came over 8:15ish on the Sunday for 15mins but had once again been on duty so couldn't kick around long.

That rain did indeed suck, was stuck out in it all night, but i did manage to aquire the Ynot transit van for most the night and use it as a shelter haha

Phil B, My band played at cornbury (not on the main stage) But I was wondering what an earth was going on with that set up or what it was. So much there, and sadly didn't get to hear it, but thanks for clearing that up.
Here are a few from my year:
Horizon ski Festival Bulgaria, Punter at this one:
Mountain stage
Not sure what these speakers are, (thought they were NCA from the logos but its actually the hire companies logo) they sounded really nice, clean and punchy.
Sick hummer thing, which drove about the mountain with djs on the back, The rest of the systems were mainly ones already in the clubs. Great laugh though and incredibly cheap. I will be back next year.

Love saves the Day/Sunday -Bristol. - I was crew on the Future boogie/Trap stage
Res 5's and F221's used there!
Dj EZ Playing on there.

Some Nexo at the Dance off.
http://i1275.photobucket.com/albums/y442/george_chandler1/DSC00044_zps7c413c41.jpg[/IMG]
Jah Shaka setting up there on sunday (Didn't sound good though, waaaaay to much HF) Best part of that weekend was Chic & Nile Rodgers  inviting all the crew up on the main stage for the end of there set. Was magical!

Gottwood Festival Anglesey: - I was stage managing at this one :
Woods at night.
Kling and Freitag in the barn from VME. first time i'd heard these speakers but I was impressed. Sounded much nicer than all the funktion one there.
More K&F on the Wild things stage, With delays (needed for harsh noise limits)
Lake Stage - Some wicked reggae here from General Roots
Boxford Caravan. - Never liked the sound here Was too smooth and the noise limits were stupid!

Boardmasters, near Newquay.

Main stage, D&B, Midas H3000 and some digital thing on foh

9 Jsubs per side. Quite potent boxes really!

Huge dance tent, I didn't go in there when it was turned up, wish I had though. Yammy m7 on foh.

Bands tent, yammy ls9-32 on foh

Outdoor DJ stage, 2 f218, 2 res4 per side, behind scrim/hessian

Another small setup, the teeth were flashing when it got dark!

Small stage called 'the view'. Where did that name come from then? Void arcline from a local chap.

Beer tent, more arcline, noisy band. Mixed on an Ilive rack and laptop at foh, multicore to the stage! Must have been this way to get a pfl socket at foh with no control surface.

I've never seen so much Funktion One in Cornwall! It all came from Manchester along with the D&B. Overal the sound was much better than in previous years, as was the production in general.

Blahblahblah

That'll be good ol' Audile doing what they do best – you can have it any way you like as long as it's purple or from Germany

One of my colleagues was at Boardmasters and the db rig was pretty awesome!

Apparently the Dance Tent was not at all, hfs kept cutting out bass cones sounded like they were bottoming out. A few choice words about the rig from Grand Master flash during his set about the rig too!!

Good reports about the little void rig too!

I wouldn't listen to anything grandmaster flash says .

he really hasn't a clue , he is a terrible redliner and will not listen to anyone who tells him to pull his gains back .

I had to deal with this before .
