Got a pair of Eminence pa pro 12's 300w 8ohm, don't have cabinets for them (got my eye on some on another forum, if my registration goes through) Doing this on a limited budget and the system will be used for outdoor free stuff.
Would there be any issues in using the cabinet, could mount the 12 on another baffle and attach that to the cab, glued and screwed, until I get some bigger drivers ![]() Edited by Mrd999 - 23 May 2012 at 8:03am |

i really wouldn't bother, sell the drivers you have and buy something more suitable.

In that case I will look out for some cabs designed for a 12, just seen some cheep cabs for 15, only just bought the cones so don't want to sell them on.
Cheers for the reply. Cabs were cheaper than the ply it would cost to make some |

But if you made them, you could design them with the correct internal volume and port size, probably end up with a much nicer sounding box.
This can be done very easily using winISD (which is free). that said if you cant get the wood cut properly and your carpentry isnt great then you will end up with a box that sounds crap haha. But if the wood is cut well you cant go all that wrong with a simple box (take your time getting screw holes right etc, plenty of glue - check out the build tutorial thing on the speakerplans main page)

I have done this as a temp job whilst I sort out my own cabs. I did check the volume of the cabs I bought before handing over my £10 for them. If the volume works for your drivers, you should get an ok sound. If your paying the same as I did you wont go far wrong. |

Cabs are listed on Cough cough free speaker plans as £45..But for some strange reason can't register on that site, have been trying to register for the last 3 days and e mailed admin to, nothing, pretty peaved, if am honest,as just down the road from my gf's in London and I could collect this sat.Any members on here fancy giving the guy a shout ? konrad blakala
And it is only really as a stop gap possibly just for the first party, I have spent a feck load of money so far, and can't really afford some 15's for them yet. Do plan on making some HD15's myself, play mainly hard house, trance, nu nrg, so it will be kick bins rather than scoops Edited by Mrd999 - 24 May 2012 at 6:40pm |
