Just wondering if its worth me trying to fix this speaker? Its a 10" Speaker box, part of the B52 Matrix v2 1000 system.
Pulled it out of storage only to find one of the speakers not working. Opened it up to find the orange coil dangling and one of the wires not connected. Easy enough to solder back on or should I take it to a shop? |

Solder it back on yourself.
You may have to scrape the insulation to get it to take solder. Put it back on the board with another tie, then blob it up with silicone. DO NOT PUT THE WOOFER BACK IN THE BOX FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS Silicone the other speakers if made the same way. Silicone out-gasses and that will damage things until it is fully cured (hence the above warning). Edited by _djk_ - 31 October 2016 at 11:17pm |
