We're fighting for that popularity, nineleaves gave up on the new version & Fane stopped b600 & 1500.

If I build 12/24 pcs I will definitely post cnc files, but I would want to do a modded ported version like earlier in this topic, lots of advantages, less heat in chamber, less overexcursion & extended lf response.

We have built a prototype and made a test with http://www.faitalpro.com/en/products/LF_Loudspeakers/product_details/index.php?id=201070135 - this driver .... there is a heat issue. It is 1200w driver but we are planing on using 1600w.

More test will be made with mods. I want to use it up to 150hz cut.

Interesting! -both parts!

I was thinking about the same, using them with flash/floodlights & making a ported proto, keep us updated!

Ask fane wether they'll do some more 18b800, I think they can make them from the magnet assemblys & coils they have, but probably you have to buy a few. I hope for them to do some 18-1500 kits too.

Anyone simmed these with the letterbox throat?? If so what size is it? Gonna build some but think I would struggle with the half moon config

Mikeys suggestion of 450cm throat, 300mm x 150mm works but would different length x height dimensions effect the sound at all?
Also the brace that sits directly above the baffle seems to divide the throat in two, does this effect the waves in any way?

(okay, actually this is 3x3, so 9 ..but 8 about the same, also this isnt showing the extra senstivity resulting from directivity gain)

if you intend to use more than afew, there is an argument for going for the more expensive, longer excursion drivers, like the fane 18-1000 & 1500 ..and yes, i expect the v1000 :) ..this will allow you to use the capacity down to 30hz in stacks when setup properly :)

Have this been simmed the "correct" new way?
I'm still considering to build 24 for my 18-1500!
Most often I use 6 per side, as the sim above suggests it's nice to have a lot of these!
I won't afford it this winter, but perhaps next winter.
I'd probably do a ported version.

I'm a bit confused about the simming:
1. It appears to take some of the air in front of the horn into account,
2. Where does S1 start and what's the front chamber? I guess the horn won't start until past the cone?
3. I've seen one sim that was simply "tra", perhaps the horn is designed from tractrix output data from hornresp? Others are con sections.

Thanks in advance for further clarification.

What are the opinions regarding drivers for this cab? I'm undecided what to go with, PD1850/Void V18-1000 or the Fane Prime XS Wink

I don't like the sound of a pd1850 in a flh.

V1000 would be my option if i had only those to choose from.

I wouldn't put a xs in a horn, not suited

Looking as though v1000 it will be then unless anyone can suggest alternatives to the ones in the previous post. I looking around a max of £300 per driver.
