But what's wrong with wanting to replace a blown driver in an AB-36 you already own with a different driver, say a PAudio SD18, but you want to model it's response to see how well it would work first... I believe the whole copyright issue is to prevent people from making money off a patented design. Once your product is out, there's nothing stopping anyone from taking a tape measure to the insides and simulating a response... I'm sure many aspects of QSC's amps are patented, but they make repair schematics available on their website. Edited by bitcore - 13 September 2008 at 5:06pm |

when cerwin vega release its plans on its site, I'll post the simulation...however you can find the plans on the net and you can try to do the simulation by yourself. It's not harder, I use inkscape openoffice calc to get the data from the plans, free tool you have only to try mate :)

PM Mykey, he's simmed it. When I create a sim for plans, I like to unfold the horn on paper or on CAD. You have to approximate the bends. |

Stipe hog scoop
s1=750 con=112.8 s2=1062 con=42 s3=1770 con=51 s4=2544 con=47 s5=5700 vrc=0 lrc=0 fr=0 tal=0 vtc=49456 atc=86 measure taken from http://www.speakerplans.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=8887&PN=1 I've modeled this like a proper scoop but it's not only a scoop because the woofer is inside the orn mouth and works like a tapped horn.
