No it wont, the motor is not strong enough in comparison to the mass of the cone (high qts value).

Hey Bee. I finally got a couple built and I was curious if you could answer a question for me... Is there any merit to adding any dampening material if using RCF LF18n401 drivers? Thanks-

Hey everyone, there was some complications with the RCF drivers I was looking at picking up for my SBH builds. I was looking into an alternative driver and I was hoping someone may be able to tell me if these Faital 18HW1070 would work in these cabs... here are the parameters.
Fs 32 Hz Re 5.4 Ohm Qes 0.39 Qms 10.0 Qts 0.37 Vas 171.2 dm^3 (6.05 ft^3) Sd 1124 cm^2 (174.22 in^2) Xmax (4) 13.00 mm Xdamage (5) 30 mm Mms 259.0 g Bl 27 N/A Le 1.68 mH Mmd 237.7 g Cms 0.10 mm/N Rms 5.2 Kg/s Eta Zero 1.41 % EBP 82 Hz Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Hi guys, We're about to build 4 of these horns and their debut will be at a festival. Its not a huge tent and due to the sizing of everything the guy wants us to run in stereo. I've read a lot about these boxes and how the coupling is quite important, how big an effect will splitting them into two stacks have? should we push to try and get it in a mono stack with the bins on their sides? Theyre going to be loaded with v18s and run off an SAE with USBs and MT121s above them Cheers for any tips. I'll get posting some pics once we start the build in a couple of weeks! |

Don't worry. They will work fine in two stacks. Especially outside.

Well they will work but the mouth area will not be there to support the low corner cutoff - so you will need to watch for overheating coils, and be wary of the amount of power going in and spectral content of the music.

Don't worry mate. 2 per side is all you need

Just because you got more boxes that don't make you a man....
