My piramid horns seem to work well over scoops... i tuned them to about 80hz... 15" fane drivers.

smaller scoop aint really necessry for that frequency range... no need for a long horn really

anyone tried a ported horn for kick? have been playing round with a 2*12" design to do 80-300Hz but it is a long way from prototype still

Why would you want a ported horn for kick!? it would be harder to match the kick and sub up, and you dont need a massive horn for 80Hz. Unless you mean some sort of cunning port-in-throat design.....

A ported horn would be useful so it could be used without scoops on it's own for different events.
If designed in relation with the scoops, we could look at port output vs horn output vs phase difference Edited by Deadbeat - 01 December 2008 at 7:24pm |
