Bwoy, looks like this thread grow into a beast... Shocked

Was talking to mixture of PA man dem and old soundman. They agree the martin box/FK1 218/ASS is kick cab dons of all time, but martin cab too big for use on top of scoop, and y too much for playing the kind of music people use scoops for.

They tell me depending on budget the best 3 options for "my needs", is each scoop should have ...

1. 1x IHD18 or 1/2 USB  (They were really excited about this)
2. 1x HD15 (Must have good PD or JBL driver, )
3. 1x 15" reflex- They say Eminence Kappa will be fine for this

They also suggest better to get single driver cabs, so is easier to lift and transport, and more flexible setups, if you only need 2x kick cab over 3x scoops.

4 (kick)-6(scoop) ratio too low then by all acounts, curently using 2-4 ratio with 15" but a tmax 1200 loaded cows a whole different kettle of beef.

if any kick cab penalty shootout occurs their 4 186 loaded es18's here but then that seems like the most common iteration their is.

I reckon for a single stack of 6x scoops, 4x 18"/15" BPH type cabs is well sufficient inside/out.

For reflex kick, I reckon 1-1 ratio would be needed.

Personally for 4x scoop stack I would go for 3x 18" BPH type horns.

For any 4x scoops, 3x of the following would easily keep up,

loaded with Celestion FTR/PD186,
a)IHD18s,
b)ES18BPH
c)HD15s loaded with Kappa 15A/LF/Pro

On the cheap side, 2x 2x15s loaded with Eminence Kappa would also do it.

a b c are bandpass horn...in your opinion a scoop kick section should be better a bandpass horn than other type of cab?

These just happen to be free, easy to build designs, that are tried and tested with 18" scoops.
