only way to know for sure what eq it needs, is either by listening or by measuring (highly prefered!). With the large availability of dual channel FFT measurement devices and software, there really is no excuse for an audio professional not to do this. All you need is a 2in-2out soundcard with phantom power and a measurement mic. A berry ecm8000 is more than adequate and cheap as chips.
Free software comes in all forms. There is the demo version of Smaart, the demo version of ARTA, and the fully enabled HOLMimpulse.

So had my ultradrive 3 years now and forgot to post about this the other week but I got to a party plugged everything up and no input to the ultradrive, getting output from the master of the mixer hanged all XLRs etc and no effect and I feared the worst.
Then I remembered some advice I had read on this forum, pulled it out the rack whacked it open found the ribbon cable for the input XLRs whacked that off put it back on fired it up and boom we had input into the Ultradrive again! Cheers for the advice whoever I read way back on here about the ribbon cables needing re-seating occasionally |

Unlink all the outputs first, and go from there. Maybe try loading a blank template, I can't recall if they are linked by default.
For the sum, you need to configure the sum (by telling it which inputs to use), then you need to set the output channel to use the internal sum as its source, rather than input A/B/C. I find it very straight forward and logical personally (bearing in mind I've not even looked at one for over 3 years and I can remember that...) I suspect its really no different/more difficult to the Void unit in real terms, you've simply become too familiar with a different unit. Edited by norty303 - 03 September 2014 at 5:45pm |

Hello Mark
If you are setting up one channel and it affects another channel as well, then there are linked channels. You can either turn this off, or start of fresh with the 6-way mono setting. That one is free of any links, and is the one i always use as starting point. If you cannot get any output on the mono sum, you are definitely doing something wrong. next to the scrollwheel is a button that takes you to the sum menu. There you have to choose which inputs you want to route to the mono sum bus. From the output channels you can then just select the mono bus as the input for that specific channel.

You have to go to the "sum" page and manually set which inputs you want to sum. This page is different to the routing page

I bet you've got SUM muted. In which case press MUTE and then SUM. SUM is now unmuted and should produce output on any channel set with SUM as the source.
