lets try designing a mini scoop using simple trial and error...

be abit different to conventional way of designing

start with the size... i think it should be no bigger then 1.0m x 0.75m x 0.6m

the best size i could hope for is 0.8m x 0.8m x 0.5m

lets see what happens
Produce a killer sound. Take no prisoners.

I think you need to define mini you also need to define the driver,  all you fine British lads seem to be using 18"drivers, does not seem as popular here in the states, although certainly used often.

So set you box size, as you have, for a driver, I assume that yours is for an 18. You could make an amazing small scoop for a 10 or 12, but that would not be a fair comparison.

And here would be a challenge for all you designer types, what is the most say 40-90Hz SPL you can get per liter of box volume? Maybe add Per liter, per watt? any size driver you want.

If it was easy, everyone would do it!

They need to be designed using the industry standard width of 580mm to enable truck packs of four wide and panel van packing of three wide across the vehicles---This is where all the other scoops have fallen down as they all seem to be 2ft wide or thereabouts so it is impossible to pack them three wide across any panel van.
It would also make for neat stacking with mid/hi cabinets as most of them are around the 580mm wide size as well.

Mykey is probably spot on with 580mm wide by 750mm deep and a height of about one metre.
I think that the width is very important---Take the width of a typical Sprinter size van and you can fit two rows of three cabinets nice and snug across the van if they are 580mm wide----If you build them 2 ft wide then you can only fit four cabinets in the same space and the remaining gap is not wide enough even to fit a standard width 19" rack case into it so immediately you are f-cked for packing the van neatly and tight without large gaps for gear to roll or slide around----This is a majpr problem with a lot of the cabinet designs that I see on Speakerplans as there are a lot of cabinets that are 2ft wide as standard and little or no thought has gone into using these size cabinets for gigging or touring----Looney bin is a classic example of this---it could have been made 580mm wide and slightly deeper to compensate for the loss of internal volume caused by slimming it down.
