"2241 doesnt work in wbin"

It doesn't work in THIS W-bin, the back volume is way too small.

the 2241 was built to take over from the 2240 as a direct replacement, i had quite a few jbl factory built orignals boxes that jbl sent me the replacement speakers and they were the 2241, so your saying that jbl dont know their own speakers . the 2240 was rated at 400 watts and the 2241 600 watts

jbl probably sent the 2241 because the 2240 is out of production.but they have different parameters so they cant be the same.noone, here, said"jbl dont know their own speakers"..but if you ask for 2240 and its not available anymore they have to sell something else.its normal..2240 and 2241 are both 600w continuos.

"the 2241 was built to take over from the 2240 as a direct replacement"

Only in the sense that they were both 18" in diameter.

They are very different speakers otherwise.

If you want to use it in this box, go ahead, it will still make lots of noise.

"i guess you know more "

I certainly do!

JBL sells the same software I use.

Get some education and learn how to use the software yourself.

I don't care what they say, it is not a suitable replacement for the 2240 or 2442 in this cabinet.

If you want to believe it, fine.

I recently noticed P.Audio do a P180/2241 driver (and a P180/2242) are these supposed to be JBL equivalents? The P180/2241 has Fs=33Hz, Qts=0.3, Vas=311, which I think is pretty close to djk's recommended pars for a suitable driver
