They're not cow scoops Embarrassed

The one on the far left was the first prototype, the other 3 were the "proper" ones

Getting another one made, so I'll have 4 with matching bracing, and two (other prototype is at a lockup) with different style bracing

Sounded rather nice, if I do say so myself Tongue

I don't think we really know what noise the animal they're named after makes. I'd guess it isn't very cute though

Will try bring you something to play with when I have a chance

The bullits is the worst thing about that stack! -They're playing INTO each other!
Google "splay", "point source", "interference" & "comb filtering" these words describes proppa tops!

I would guess that the 1" horns should be enough if they're good, but they're standing side by side too!
U can NEWER put tops side by side, unless you like the effect of comb filtering.

Sorry sound system folks, it's not my rules, just the laws of physics.

But the bottom part look VERY NICE INDEED:-)
-What scoops re they then?

G'awwwh and I was getting such good reviews up until now! Well I am the builder of those tops and I can tell you they sound very good indeed even in that slightly non-optimal configuration. The full stack as designed has 180 degree dispersion if all the trap sections are butted up against each other, and then there are no "crossed streams" going on. However, this room was not big enough to warrant the full splay being used. But, since this was the first outing, there was not really any question of just bringing out two or three of each box - it was all playing for sure :)
There will in the fullness of time be some kind of tilt board for the tweeter boxes that allows them to be splayed and tilted down, at which point all the beam centre-lines should be nicely 40 degrees apart horizontally and not even potentially interfering at all. For this session, I just made a couple of pieces of "acoustic cheese" (wooden wedges) to split the top section in the middle and avoid the outer boxes playing into walls.

Additionally, the operator is no fool, and isn't in the game of blowing people's ears out with shattering treble; sweetness is the key LOL
