forgive me, but why the hell would you need that much power in one amplifier? 20kw rms? You running an MRI brain scanner, or are those street size arrays you run all series/parallel combination?

Nowadays MRI's run on switch mode power supplies with much higher power capabilities and smaller packages than whats shown here. Also the gradient amplifiers are all switchmode.

These monster amps were used to power these subwoofers below, purely for Battle of Sounds event. It's like an SPL competition for pro audio. These amps takes it all and held victorious 3 days ago. Yah its run in series/parallel for mid, and parallel for subs. 21inch Storm Surge 18 inch Bulldozer, 80KGS Here are the internals... Storm Surge 20K , Mono. They do it on purpose, same design, same quantity, same size of drivers. Only matters on the power ratings of sub, mid drivers and KWatts of amplifiers used. That is why some drivers are triple stack magnets. Next year were hoping to see these stack for 21inch drivers. Its like PD1850 foldings ft WSX cone loading... Those are used to protect the amps from rain. More like a canopy tent. |

If I'm not mistaken, I've seen these drivers in the production line in Guangzhou. The cone is so hard/thick that it may survive a nuclear attack. And if it was not enough, they apply thick glue coating on both sides Totally insane stuff but honestly, sound quality is very bad (imagine hitting a barrel with a piece of wood...)
