Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has used one of these or has any opinions on them?

http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_d3400.htm

Had to sell my void amp that powered my bass as i needed funds for other things, so ive been thinking of new amps to power them.

These have 2x 1800w which is a good 900w each for my void 18" 1000w drivers..

Can anyone also suggest any other amps more suitable for under £400?

Cheers :)

It's pretty much what you expect for the money. I've got one. It must be getting on 4 years old now and still going strong. If you do a search maybe my review is still to be found.

Basically it puts out the power (aroun 1.5k a side) into 4 ohms, but any lower impedance and it shuts down. We ran 3 loonies off one side and it does kick but then shut down as soon as it clips.

Used it to run two USBs for days at Frenchtek in rough conditions. Plenty of output. The problem is you have to keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't clip as it has no limiters. It sounds fine for full range use too. The fans are quite noisy and i don't think it has any XLR links which is quite annoying.

I'm sure there are much better class d amps for the same price out now.

NOTE: Please don't go posting comments such as "its shit" when you haven't even seen or used one. It would be most useful to write "i've heard from my friend X that he used it in situation Y and wasn't happy for reason Z"
