Lev, let me ask you a question, please don't get upset or anything, but i seem to have the idea that you're always asking the right questions, making some true statements nobody really wants to hear, and informing to miracle bass-lowmid cab. But, what do you want a cab for that can play 80-300 dead straight without coloration? Don't get me wrong, it's just that i've heard you asking for this for the past half year or so but never ever have i seen any effort of your builds, so what is it that you are gonna do with these cabs?? Please paint me an image of who or what the levyte is/does. Excuse my ignorance, but i'm not a london local attending carnival or the like, nor even living in England, so.... |

Best regards,

Btw, i have built succesfully a double 12'' horn loaded mid top that plays from 150Hz to 800Hz to meet a BMS coaxial, totally worth the price and although there will always be compromises, even with this setup, i think it's the best one there is for me. Why would you even want to cross at 300Hz?
Also, when i built my BPH, i had two designs i had prototyped, a 15'' FLH and a 15''BPH, about the same size and all. I regret the day i made the decision to go for the BPH instead of the FLH.... weakest link on my system by far as per sound quality. Sometimes SMP even is right.

TMS 3 did a good job of the lowmid / upper bass, as i remember, its a long time since i heard one.... it can be done well just a lot of the designs people are using are bass cabs, not really lowmids.

Always thought BPH that could do 80-250hz was the holy grail of kick cabs.
Last week did sweep test of 15" reflex, and realised "IMHO", BPH can't both go low and high enough to make decent job of low vocals. "Personally", think FLH is the guy, but what type of sorcery is needed to get FLH to 80hz, without oversize cab? Maybe another thread needed. Edited by levyte357- - 02 September 2014 at 9:04pm |

Ray, you should realise that trying to get a "kick" cab (I hate that term) to go to 250 puts it well into the realms of Mid Range, and can you imagine what happens to vocals which rely on sensitive movement, and having to reproduce voice with a cone that is pumping back and forth. Not good.

total agree, with you Tony.... its like trying to get a 12" driver to play up to 5k..... why.....
why not just get a better top cab lev, most good top cabs should play down to 150hz/180hz......

this will do perfect kick 65-300 almost flat. It is ported FLH. But again, playing low vocals trough any kind of folded horn, I do not like that way. |

Signature is important. So I always write something in this dedicated field.

Hi All!
I am currently building 2 hog scoops and would really like to have these on top! Does anyone have a copy of the plans still? The only copy on here is blurred in relation to angles and some sizes that have to be cut. Would really appreciate any help. Thanks guys!
