PD 1850 vs RCF P300?
Could anyone please enlighten me on the dis-advantages, advantages of which driver to choose, aside from the obvious price differences, wattages? I understand wattage isn't everything and does not necessarily mean a higher SPL etc in the RCF driver but merely how much power it can be given before meltdown! But I'm not just interested in the SPL but how well they sound etc. I am new to this and don't fully understand all the small thiele parameters?! Cheers - Simon. |

pd 1850 will give you more bass and spl with enough power.
you have a better cone control (higher BL factor), more low end possible (more xmax) and will sound harder (not necessary an advantage)... P300 wont work as well in the 1850 horn as in the 186 horn and will sound a lot smoother than the pd 1850 in the 1850 or 186 horn, but not as loud as. also im pretty sure the power compression of the pd 1850 is lower what means in practise again an advantage of more spl... cheers |

I just wanted some expert advice before spending alot of money, Mainly on whether the PD1850 is really worth the extra money compared to the RCF and also the PD 186 if anyone wishes to commment! |
