Hey guys, picked up an old OHM MR.450 (the bandpass version) from an old nightclub installation that was local to me, new bloke just wanted rid of it as he was renovating the place and I managed to grab it for £50 (think he was sick of seeing it in his out house, lol).
Cab has apparently been installed and left there only once and having heard it in the room myself when it was running in there, it doesn't seem to have been pushed too hard as it sounds sweet to me. Any idea what these bins were loaded with originally? it does have the original driver, both the old club owner and the old DJ have confirmed this, stuck on how you get in the thing too as I wouldn't mind taking a look at the internals. May re-coat it as it is a bit battered but apart from that it seems fine, wouldn't mind another actually, what do these things go for with original drivers? Cheers P.S, I'm aware that it has a passive crossover built in, but what sort of x-over freq would it be best to run? Edited by DiscoFish - 07 March 2013 at 6:04pm |

Sounds good to me! been looking it up and I get mixed results, some say it's 400w, some say it's 450, and yet on the input plate mine says 500w @ 8 ohm? strange.
Can't find sod all on how to get in it or what it's loaded with either!

If it sounds like a gorilla is trying to escape, turn it down.

I own some ohm cabs also and contacted Ohm by email from their website and gave the serial number on the back of the cab above the wattage and they were able to give me frequency range, wattage and best guess they were b & c drivers but not 100% sure as they were 20 years old and that was all info they had on them! Drop them an email, they were very helpful.

True. That's because i wasn't worth it. It apparently takes a proper Brit to make a good brew. I'm only allowed to serve tea, but i can't be arsed to do that. Seems that i'm slipping a bit on checking this out. |
