Just found this on YooToob - Pink Floyd used these horns in one of their early PA systems (chaged drivers to Gauss, though IIRC). The rigging was the problem - it would take forever to load/unload rig/de-rig such a system - but apprently the sound was superb (well, for the era).

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

Interesting....i bet those big horns play down quite low..500hz? Bass cabinets seem to just be Altec 817's ,simple 2x15's. I know the limitations of the camera microphone, but does seem to lack some VHF though?
Be seeing you.

Probably the best horn ever made the Mantaray such a shame the bods at Altec didn't seem bothered to develop it and push it further.
Never criticise another man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Once you have, call him what you like, you're a mile away and you've got his shoes!

A permanent install system designed for voice only. They typically used 292 phenolic drivers, 7Khz tops. The local 15K seat basketball arena has a similar system. For directivity purposes those horns were crossed at 800hz, although with the phenolic they will go to 300hz.
