Any body got any dual 15" mid top plans or know how to modify the X12's to accept 15" drivers?

Why 2x15? That will be some big boxes for midtops

Yes indeed, and unless you can find some used JBL E130's to put in them,i wouldn't bother,as using a conventional 15" driver in there for mids simply wont give you the efficiency you will need.

I'll see your e130 and raise you one of the big four
Bit of a shame they actually got the speaker type names the wrong way around on the last two.... They also did a later version of it, the RCF L15P100AC which is the pinnacle of engineering and i.m.o. better than the E130 as it extends higher due to a slightly stiffer cone and thinner dome.

So are Dual 15" mids to over the top? Should I just build Dual 12" and a G Sub? These are just for general house party's and stuff. What should I do?

Just dont see the need to go with 15s for mids imho , seen and heard nuff sounds using 10s 12s on mid duty and plenty of coverage and spl/loud big/medium venue's outside ect..

Stick with 12" or even 10" on mid most 15" are not designe for mid duties anyway more for low/mids or subs

hey
Dual 15" mids seem to be a very American thing and very popular over there. However while you do get a bit more low end out of them you loose a lot in the upper mids before you cross over to your compression driver. Much better to use double 12" to get a much better mid range and let your subs do the low stuff. k |

Another +1 for using 10s or 12s, a few years ago I had a couple of pairs of 2x15" + 1" for mobile disco work and for that sort of thing they were great, but when I tried running them as midtops above bass bins they just couldn't do the job at all.
