So I have one of these that I'm giving a friend, it's a Kenwood unit.
Trouble is my friend would like to be able to play records on it but there's no needle. Any ideas where I can get one or know what I should be searching for? Cheers,

Back in the day, Tandy's used to be your best bet.
Now, erm, no idea, looks like the headshell and cartridge is permanently mounted, too. (And a Technics headshell would be worth more than the deck, I reckon). Could try ringing a local hi-fi repair shop, they probably still have links to suppliers - just give them the deck model no.

If its just broken off pull out the rest of the neddle and just look for a similar replacement on the bay of evil. Its just a little tiny thing with a pair of tiny arms hanging off each side and it just slides rite in.
Have a look to see if it just worn down or the broken half is inside 1st... |

My dad used to have this deck - I used to break that needle on a monthly basis - as others have said, it's a tiddly little thing, which should be easy enough to replace....
Think my old mans was this one...and it's definitely a very very similar deck. http://www.stylusplus.co.uk/kenwood-p43-record-player-stylus-7294-p.asp |
