Anyone used this combination? Obviously more the sort of thing people use for hifi rather than PA but Ive just been round to this girls house and she has a pair of the classic 4530 scoop loaded with JBL 2205A drivers and wants to use them for a party. Looking at the scoop Im thinking HiPass around 40hz and run them up to 120hz to meet some 12" mid range drivers.

Just trying to gauge how hard they can be run before damage will occur as I will be lending her some amps to power them and dont want to give her a 5000watt monster if all they need is a couple of hundred watts up them.

you will get lot of noise with 100watt amp! Very efficient combo!!
Support the scoop technology, larger mouth plays louder!

The scoops will sound lovely, but bear in mind those alnico 2205's are only rated at 150w,so dont go doing anything daft with them re. amplifiers...an amp of 2x500w into 4 ohms would be more than adequate for the bass, and make sure there is a subsonic filter fitted, remove anything below 40hz.
Be seeing you.
