We've bought a logic system VA rig and need amps. Our options are MC2 E45s or QSC Powerlight equivalent.

Could people share their opinions on these amps?

The QSC are much cheaper, are they as good at the mc2?

Many thanks :)

PL3 series?

If so, they are very good amps.

both are great bits of kit, i would probably go with the 380, particularly if it is cheaper.

Thanks. I think we'll have to find a way to try both!

PL380's are good solid amps, very similar power wise to E45's so a good alternative.

Not heard the E45's in direct comparison so can't comment on any differences (or not), but happy with our PL380's (we use for everything from Mid & Low in 3way tops, full range monitors and Sub's).

Is there is any major difference other than power between PL2 & PL3 series ... using PL 236 on hi/mids at the moment...

for me, not enough to make a change if you have enough headroom on the 236.

Not much if any difference really, they've both the same (or very similar) I/O options on the back of the amp's.  The PL325 and PL340 are similar design and power output to the the PL2 range.

The only major difference is the PL380's are a different design and a lot higher power point than any of the PL2's.

Thanks

I have used both, especially the PL380s, used MC2 E45,90,100.
I would personally go with the QSC's. It would be interesting to do a direct comparison.
The QSCs will save you a lot of money too...
Typically now a PL380 is around £2500.
Whereas a MC2 E90 £3500.
Both come with 5 year warranty I'm sure, MC2 is UK based. Excellent cs.

Why? Have you compared both sonically?

Or £715 used (ex shipping to UK): http://soundsale.nl/occasions/product/1151/pl380

Ridiculously cheap.
