what do you need them for/intended application?
might be a cheaper and easier solution to put them in small sealed cabs or bog standard reflex rather than large Horns. |

Hi,
the principal and only aplication will be used as a "dub soundsystem" style. 2 scoops down, 2 folded horns on bass, and the cabinet that im looking for should work with the beyma in the range of ~180-1000hz. Upside them i will put the classics 2x12" angled. what do you think? can this beyma carry a good sound on that cabinet (supossing it only has 250w...)? I'm starting to think that won't be enough SPL on the midrange... Edited by RkH - 15 February 2017 at 11:22pm |

212s should meet the "folded bass" easily around 160hz-1200, if not swap those 2 horns for 4 15" reflex..
scoops 40-80, 15s 80-200ish, 212s+dedicated hf up |

these beymas look good on paper, go up to 4 kHz and have around 100 dB sensitivity. If all four are the same model you could probably just build 4 x closed box and use them as kick/mid to go straight up to meet a hf horn at 1 kHz?
a closed or ported box is simple enough to build. Maybe make one and test how it sounds, if it can deliver what you need -> less complex system. Worth a try maybe scoops + 15" BPH + 15" mid + 12" mid + hf - that's five way already, and you haven't even considered if you also want piezos or bullets over that, or one of those sexy two-way BMS drivers on top of that. Also 12" straight horns without phase plug (I assume they don't have) don't make sense for over 1 kHz look at king shilohs current sound for a random example (haven't heard it, no idea how good/bad), he has his weird scoops & 15" reflex kicks & top with direct radiating 10" + horn + bullets.

Hi,
thanks for the replies, i really apreciate them. As I see you really putting a lot of interest i will deliver more information and photos. On top of the 12" should go a 2" compression driver.. the model is beyma CP600Ti, here is the specifications: RMS 60w @ 1khz 100w @ 2khz Sensitivity : 110 dB Lowest cross f.: 600hz The waveguide is totally unknown and i the only think i know its made by aluminium, no dispersion angle, nothing. I know something about physics of sound, acoustics and psychoacoustics, as i've been studying for 2 years, but they didn't pushed to hard in the "custom" builds... so here i am with what i think its a good base for learn. I'm asking for your opinions, i think it would go ok, drivers models: subs 2 18" pd18br40, lows 18" Beyma don't rememer de model, mids-high 12" probably some new eminence or fane. What do you think? yeah that sounds more sensible! Although I thought the beymas are 15"?? it depends a lot on budget, what size of events etc. you mentioned dub as genre?
you haven't mentioned if you have any kind of amps, processing, mixer or reggae preamp, what kind of playback sources (vinyl/digi?). my personal opinion: Especially if you plan to build up your sound slowly/bit by bit, and your events are not very big, I would again suggest to start three way with 18" scoops + direct radiating (closed box or reflex) 15G300 kick/mid (~100 Hz - 1000 Hz) + Hf horn, to gain some experience in the whole process. Use what you have & start simple! You can later add some front loaded 12" horns like MT121 to cover 200 - 1000 Hz if you need more output. Regardless, you're going to have loads of fun!
