Lincoln Links passed away about two years ago,i never bought one of his pre amps as they were very expensive,we spoke quite often just before his death as i have one of his first parametric units. My first pre was an Elvins 'Starfire',then another Elvins with built in sound effects we then moved over to Jah Tubbys, currently using a MSkeete custom 3 way,and very pleased with it,sound quality excellent and would recommend,Most original sound men use pre amps with added bits,a lot of reggae systems now adays just use mixers and bass enhancers and those sort of things that don't represent reggae music,i'm staying true to the game.

Great thread and really useful to those of us that don't quite understand how the reggae systems work!
aint seen a weight & treble for a good few years either!
what about a thread on the early sound system valve amps too?

Never criticise another man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Once you have, call him what you like, you're a mile away and you've got his shoes!
