Got a heavy (well actually not that heavy) XP3000h here. Obviously very different to the last one I owned which had metal mosfets facing up. This one has trannies on bottom. What is the actual difference in these amps? Thanks Edited by nickyburnell - 22 February 2017 at 12:31pm |

Must be the difference between the 3000 mosfet (old style front) and 3000h I suppose

I preferred my old STR3000H, to the XP3000H.
But an SAE PXM1450 will spank both those now.. |

Yes my str3000 was brutal on bass!!! Shredded x4 1550s in turbo folded horns a very solid 3k amp indeed.

STR3000s had a reputation for frying voice coils, where as I've used MA5000VZs and QSC 5050s, and no such issues.
Kinda' reminds me of MA3600VZ. |

The STR3000H "apparently" had metal transistors, and larger transformer. Hence STR3000H was monster in bridge, and XP series had a tendency to... |
