Hhmm, not had any issues with them yet and they seem to currently be able to provide the basics that I need, I might bug you for other options if I get issues though.

Afraid I agree. Although TSHosts can be a frustrating lot. Mad issue that a (relatively) low amount of failed POP3 logins causes them to block IP, try that with a Tractor and farm company in the West Country! Oh, and before you start, don't take the piss out of POP3 Toasty |

I would put 1and1 at the very bottom of the pile. Maybe just above GoDaddy.

£5.00/month for mailboxes? That's very expensive. Most hosting providers comes with email box. If you only host simple HTML site, I would recommend you to check hostforlife.eu or ukwindowshostasp.net. If you use hostforlife, it is around EUR 4.00/month and it has come with email boxes. I have tried both of them, I prefer hostforlife since their price is cheaper than ukwindowshostasp.net

I use runbox for my email, which has been perfect for years with no downtime so I can only imagine their hosting is pretty good too. Not yet taken the plunge and extended to that yet though.

I use fasthosts for all my sites.
Typically £60-£80 inc VAT per annum, but very all inclusive, loads of scripting options, UK call centre for support. If your site grows, they can bolt on load balancing and dedicated servers, etc. Only issues have been when somerset got wet, there power, and back-up gen-sets were found "wanting" and was out for 9 hours. Recent Windows issue knocked out everything for 3 hours. Apart from that, no significant issues.

I had 1and1 hosting recommended to me and now use it for both my sites, never had any down time and there's no charge for extra emails unless you need loads and I've seamlessly synced then with my main gmail account. The support has been fine. I wouldn't give them 10 out of 10 but I'd expect a lot for that. Pretty good prices as well and I certianly feel fine recommending them to others.
